That picture of the bathroom rug with a tuft of fluff on the tiled floor should be printed in large format and hung at some doctor’s office to help identify patients with OCD. Ideally, behind a pane of bullet-proof glass like the Mona Lisa.

At this junction of my life, I feel as dirty as the rug and as out of place as the tuft.
